Where is Gili Trawangan? 

Gili Trawangan is located on the Northwest part of Lombok, West Nusatenggara, Indonesia. Measures 3 km long and 2 km wide, it's the largest of the three sisters. Surrounded by Bali sea, this paradise has a wide coastal line covered with soft white sand, with calm sea and clear water.
The iconic beauty of the Gilis has attracted many local and international visitor, thus the facility provided there will suffice every tourist's needs. Hotels, restaurants, watersport providers, can easily be found there.Tourists can even have their laundry washed at a laundry booth. 
Please note that any kind of motor-driven vehicle is prohibited there to prevent air pollution. To get around, you can rent a bike, or just sit on the back of a cidomo (sleigh pulled by a horse).

Getting There

To get to Gili Trawangan, first you should go to Lombok island. There're regular daily flights connecting Lombok with Jakarta, Surabaya dan Bali. It only takes 1.5 hours from Jakarta, and less than 1 hour form Bali . Or, from Bali you can take ferry from Padang Bai which depart every 1 hour, arriving at Lembar (Lombok). The second choice will take upto 5 hours to get to Lombok from Bali, and another 1-2 hours from Lembar to Senggigi.
 
Gili Trawangan is only 10-15 minutes away from Senggigi beach (main Lombok island) by speedboat. While public transportation mode can be found both at Senggigi and at Bangsal (departing to each of the three Gilis), most hotels at Gili Trawangan also provide shuttle service from Senggigi to Gili Trawangan (sometimes for free of charge). The second way is more convenient since the hotel will take care of all your luggage from your pick-up hotel until their hotel at Gili.

There're lots of hotels and bungalows there, ranging from luruxy ones to budget hotels.  Some have excellent beach-front view right from the bedroom, some have nice pubs to party all night long. July to September is peak season, so book before to secure your stay !
